The Gardener & The Tree (CH)
20:00 - 23:59
Folk from Northern Switzerland: The five Schaffhausen-based musicians from The Gardener & The Tree really blossomed on their debut album thanks a myriad of musical textures that combine a multitude of songs from the band’s history while providing us with a taste of what’s to come. The Gardener & The Tree released their first LP «69591, LAXŻ in 2017 and it has led to an increasing number of appearances at festivals and concerts. Through their musical interests, ranging from folk to indie, the five young musicians create irrepressible compositions bursting with raw-soulful stomp-and-clap indie, conjuring up images of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros or Kings of Leon. After hitting the headlines in 2012, The Gardener & The Tree have been working on new songs and growing together as a band, even though none of the members can read music notes. Singer Manuel Felder explores the origins of his music in the song «Mama’s Guitar». It was his mother and her guitar that first encouraged him to sing in far-away Australia. The Gardener & The Tree lovingly care for their songs like a gardener does for his saplings and let them grow into tall trees live on stage. Fans of Alabama Shakes, Kings Of Leon or The Lumineers should definitely circle the 3 November in their diaries.
